'Asking 4 a Friend' is the new single from Anna Burch. Having recently signed to the ever-reliable tastemaker Polyvinyl (Julia Jacklin, Hazel English), the Detroit native is making a name for herself and the flourishing indie scene thanks to her knack for gently crunching, nonchalant, garage-tinged rock. "I was playing 'Asking 4 a Friend' for my mom," she explains, "and after the first verse she very concernedly asked 'Is this about drugs?' I told her it was a metaphor for going back to a bad, undefined relationship and she seemed satisfied with that." With a debut full-length set for early next year, we're more than satisfied with this second track to come from Burch. -G.O'B
